In the critical juncture of a hero/participant’s journey there is a need for supernatural aid. This has manifested in many ways for me, most often through people. I think of my very good friend Joy. She has often served as a beacon of hope and support for my present and future challenges. That support brings renewed confidence and determination.
Some forms include prophecies or predictions. In a story it can come in the form of intervention by characters who supernaturally intervene or skills imparted to the hero/participant’s journey. And sometimes, it is a guardian angel. I’ve felt that in my life!
This encouraging aid acts as a catalyst for growth and transformation. It brings tools, both physical and metaphorical, to overcome insurmountable obstacles. This is also about an awakening to a strength that surpasses our human nature and abilities.
In my personal hero’s journey this unusual and supernatural aid has marked a turning point for me as a seeker. It provides the push I’ve needed to cross into the threshold of the unknown both literal and symbolic. Knowing I have a guardian angel sent by God helps me face the challenges.
In every great story whether fiction or a memoir, the participant must be prepared to venture deeper into the “Life Call” challenges. It is up to the hero/participant to allow the transformation. It’s where I am and what I think. And, I’m not alone on this journey! You don’t have to be either.
